    Gonna torch mine!!!!

Still dead, now 99% sure the guy that fitted the clutch has ****ed up fitting it all....

Trouble is i cant afford to wait around for him to get around to getting the box off again to look, also if its not his fault i cant afford to pay for him to do it all, so S2 is gonna be off the road a lot longer now cos just cant afford it and i have to get my Golf thru its MOT so i have a car for work, cos am now using trains and lots of walking!!

    Soooooooo pissed off now

What happens when you press the pedal, does it stay on the floor. When my master cylinder died i replaced it, bled it and tried it, it went straight to the floor and wouldnt return. It took me ages to suss it out with help off here and in the end i hadnt set the clevis on the master cylinder to the right length so the pedal spring mechanism wasnt doing anything and the cylinder wasnt being compressed.

Pedal will press and return fine once bled, but feels too light...

Doesnt make any effect on the clutch as it wont even partly disengage as the gears wont start to grind at all, if i push hard on the gear lever, the reves start to die a little bit but nothing more.

With the engine off the car goes in to all gears fine.

Problem found.... the clutch from Precision doesnt fit properly... it sits a few mm away from the flywheel, at first they thought maybe it was just on the wrong way around but its not, it just simply doesnt meet up.

Now trying to source a new clutch today for them to put back in and then should all be working again.... will keep you all posted

Is this a replacement clutch or was it yours reconditioned?

There are 2 types of ABY clutch - some people will say there isn't but Gregs and mine were different when we had them side by side.

This was mine reconditioned. have just spoke to the John at precision further and apparently the ABY should have a Rigid plate, not a spring plate, a spring plate came out of my car and apparently they reconditioned mine and sent it back, but now it wont fit.

The springs on the clutch are hitting the 6 bolts that hold on the cover.

Unfortunately i have no pics of the clutch to compare before i sent it and what i got back. But t def had springs on when it was sent away, i've not seen whats come back as it returned and was fitted whilst i was on holiday.

Sounds weird to me - what is hitting what parts.

Are they hitting the 6 bolts that hold the flywheel on? Are they low profile heads on the bolts? I think they have a spline as well as a hex head - Or have they been changed to non-genuine parts?

Apparently (As ive not seen it, only going on what ive been told...) Something is hitting against the 6 bolts that fix the cover plate on and because of that its not meeting against the flywheel... the clutch is sitting a few mm away from it.

I dont fully understand what was being said to me cos ive not seen it to know whats happening.
